Like many great modern love stories, ours began… online. Specifically on CatholicMatch. Indeed, it is truly romantic.
 

At the time, Mina was in Indianapolis attending the National Eucharistic Congress on pilgrimage with the Archdiocese, while Montie was back in Vegas, probably doing something very important… or at least thinking he was.

As their profiles crossed, Montie sent a “like,” and Mina made the first move with a message. So yes, technically, Mina shot her shot and it worked. From that first exchange, something just clicked: easy conversation, shared faith, and enough curiosity to keep it going.
 

Their first date was July 28, 2024, at Lamai Thai in Henderson, followed by a walk around Green Valley Ranch. At some point, Montie insisted on taking a photo together “just in case things worked out.” Mina agreed, likely thinking, “this guy is a little much,” but went along with it anyway. Turns out, he might have been onto something.
 

One of the things that quickly became important to them was going to daily Mass together, especially Tuesdays at St. Bridget in Las Vegas. What started as something simple became one of the most meaningful parts of their relationship. Faith wasn’t just something they had in common, it became something actively shared.
 

Not long after, it became pretty clear that this wasn’t just a casual thing. There was real chemistry, a lot of laughter, and a sense that they were building something solid. Since then, they have made memories traveling together to Scottsdale, Albuquerque, Denver, Green Bay, and a few other places they're still debating if they “count” as real trips.

They also shared their first Mass together shortly after they started dating on the Feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Church, the very place where they will soon exchange vows. What felt like a simple moment at the time has become something deeply meaningful, as it marked the beginning of a shared life of faith in a new and intentional way.
 

Long before they met, Mina had been praying for her future husband, entrusting him in a special way to the intercession of Our Blessed Mother and St. Joseph. Seeing those prayers answered in Montie has been one of the greatest blessings, and a reminder of God’s faithful providence.
 

On September 8, 2025, Montie planned a proposal that was very extra. It involved a cigar (because of course it did… he’s a bit of a cigar snob), and somehow turned into a moment they will never forget. Thankfully, Mina said yes without hesitation.
 

From a simple “like” to a lifetime together, their story is proof that God has a sense of humor… and pretty good timing too.
